Chalets Huachucocha
Two hours from Chavín de Huántar, at 4100 masl, there are 5 independent houses in typical style of the chalets of the Swiss Alps, made of stone and with wooden terraces. These comfortable rooms can accommodate groups of friends, families or couples who wish to spend a few days away from the city, in the midst of nature and tranquility.
Each of the Chalets of Huachucocha offers its guests a cozy room with kitchen and fireplace, a bathroom with hot water and two rooms.
On the outskirts of the Chalets is a dairy that daily produces excellent quality dairy products, such as butter, milk, yogurt and cheeses of different varieties.
Huachucocha has an ideal location with reference to the tourist attractions of the area, such as mountain biking circuits, the trekking of the Inca Trail in the north. An incredible walk by scenic beauty is the one that takes from Huachucocha to the town of Quinhuaragra, of 3 hours of duration.
In cultural tourism, we find the important archaeological museum of Chavín de Huántar, the Sanctuary of Pomallucay and other churches of colonial and baroque art, with beautiful sculptures carved in wood and other artistic expressions of sacred art.
HOW TO GET THERE FROM HUARAZ
From Huaraz go to Carhuaz and follow the signs to Chacas, Chacas continue on the road to San Luis. From San Luis we take the affirmed road in the direction of Huari and the Chalets are right at the point shortly before reaching the Huachucocha lagoon. The route is approximately 5 hours and we recommend arriving with an independent means of transport.
Another option coming from Lima, before the city of Huaraz turn right into Catac and follow the road that leads to Huari, passing Chavín de Huántar. From Huari we follow the signs for San Luis. Passing the Laguna de Huachucocha the Chalets and the dairy farm are located on the left. In a 4 hours tour from Catac.

All the rent for the houses of Huachucocha is returned to the Danielitos, children with disabilities who live and are cared for in the house founded by Father Daniele Badiali, located in San Luis. All the guests of the Chalets are invited to visit this very strong and moving reality.
The closest town to Huachucocha is San Luis, which is 50 minutes away by car. It is recommended to make provisions of provisions and the necessary luggage for your stay before arriving at the Chalets.
