Highlights of the Cordillera Blanca. The highest tropical mountain range in the world, the Cordillera Blanca is part of the spectacular Andes that form the spine of South America. A mecca for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, the region boasts over 50 peaks that exceed 15,000 feet, 700 glaciers and 300 lakes.
La Cordillera Blanca is one of the best and unexplored mountain ski areas in Peru, with a wide winter season and magnificent snow.
The great variety of places, orientations and inclinations allow the practice of skiing in the tropical climate. Skiing in the middle of the great mountains, such as Copa and Huascaran make it unique.
Mt. VALLUNARAJU (5,686 m / 18,654 ft.)
Vallunaraju is located right to the east from Huaraz, and is part of Ranrapalca massif, is one of the most frequented and easiest climbing peaks in the Cordillera Blanca.
Vallunaraju have two summits: The North Peak (5,686 m / 18,654 ft.) and South Peak (5,675 m / 18,618 ft.). The north summit is the most frequented summit each year and It is one of the best places to practice ski.

SEASON: December / June
DIFFICULTY: (easy): Straightforward, possibly a glacial approach, snow and ice will often be at an easy angle.
SET CAMPS: Optional Base Camp (4,430 m / 14,534 ft.) and Moraine Camp (4,950 m / 16,240 ft.).
Ishinca valley is one of the few valleys in the Cordillera Blanca that offers variety of easy and/or difficult climbs from the same Base Camp. Ishinca Base Camp is a great spot to have a perfect acclimatization process if you have bigger challenges.

Mt. PISCO (5,752 m / 18,871 ft.)
With an abundance of magnificent snow and great weather from March to jun, ski touring in Pisco is a wonderful experience.
Mt. Pisco is located in heart of the Cordillera Blanca, exactly in Huandoy Massif. It´s a Summit with 360° great view and surrounded by the principal mountains of Cordillera Blanca: Huandoys, Caraz Chain, Alpamayo, Artesonraju, Paron, Chacraraju, Yanapaccha, Chopicalqui, Huascaran South and North, Contrahierbas, and others.
Mountain considered technically easy ascent / climb in the Cordillera Blanca. Its technical conditions and its wonderful summit view; attracts many mountaineers to spend part-time, enjoying and climbing it.

Itinerary

Day 01
Huaraz (3,100 m / 10,170 ft.) – Llaca Base Camp (4,430 m / 14,534 ft.) – Moraine Camp (4,950 m / 16,240 ft.)
From Huaraz to Llaca Base Camp in Transfer (1 ½ h), then walk up to Moraine Camp (3 hrs).
Day 02
Moraine Camp – Vallunaraju Summit (5,686 m / 18,654 ft.) – Moraine Camp – Base Camp - Huaraz
From the Moraine camp, go up to the summit of Vallunaraju and then descend on ski. then to the moraine and finally return to Huaraz (1 ½ hrs)

Day 04
HUARAZ 3100m/ COCHAPAMPA 3600m/ ISHINCA BASE CAMP 4350m
Today we leave the city of Huaraz toward the north and down to the Callejón de Huaylas (also known as the Santa Valley) to the village of Paltay. We continue on an unpaved route to Pashpa, on to the small Lake Cochapampa 3600m. Here is where our local team of mule drivers waits for us. It is a 90 minute trip from Huaraz to Paltay. We then have a tranquil climb through the Ishinca Valley to our camp, near Refugio Ishinca. 4-5 hours.
Day 05
BASE CAMP 4350m/ ISHINCA SUMMIT 5530m/ BASE CAMP 4350m
A continuous climb on a good trail and then over the moraine to the glacier. The climb on the glacier is not steep, except for the last 50 meters to the summit. However, in some years, depending on the conditions at the glacier, there can be some steep sections or hard ice, Return via the same trail to Base Camp. 10-12 hours.
Day 06
BASE CAMP 4350m / HUARAZ 3100m
After breakfast we leave at 8 am for an easy return walk to Pashpa. Today burros will be carrying our camping and personal equipment. We’ll return via a hillside covered with queñuales trees (Polylepis spp.), native to the high Andes. Here our private transport will be waiting.

HUARAZ 3100m / CEBOLLAPAMPA 3900m/PISCO BASE CAMP 4700m
With a private bus transfer to Cebollapampa 3 hours approx., where we will meet our donkeys and donkey drivers to transport our mountain equipment, well start going-up for about 3 hours to get the Base camp. Time 2 to 3 hrs
Day 09
BASE CAMP 4700m / SUMMIT 5752m / BASE CAMP 4700m.
We will get up early at 2 am, to get the best snow conditions, we'll reach the summit around 9 am , and we'll rest and discover why everyone talks about the view and  get the best photos to different other peaks , then we'll come down to the base camp. Time: 9 to 10 hrs.
Day 10
BASE CAMP 4700m /CEBOLLAPAMPA 3900m/ HUARAZ 3100M.
After breakfast we trek out to Cebollapampa and then transfer to Huaraz Walking Time:  2 hours
